Yes. PF Wonder Salve will eliminate fresh and old proud flesh. For older areas that may have hardened, or formed thick proud flesh, the area may need to be “roughed-up”, or abraded to the point of slight bleeding. This is not uncomfortable for horses, as there are no nerve endings in proud flesh.

One of our California customers shared a great way they abraded a massive amount of proud flesh that had formed on an injury which had not healed properly. This customer used a fine cheese grater.
